Sarah Chalke

Sarah Chalke was conceived in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, 27 August 1976. Her parents are Angie Chalke and Doug Chalke. She is the middle child of two brothers, the older one, Natasha Chalke, one younger, Piper Chalke. Sarah began her acting career on TV in a made-for-TV film called City Boy (1992). After her debut film was a success, Sarah auditioned for the role "Becky" from Roseanne (1988). After Alicia Goranson left the show to go to college the show was in search for an alternative. Sarah graduated high school in 1995 while filming the 1994-95 Roseanne (1988) season. Sarah also appeared with Jim Varney (1994) in Ernest Goes to School (1994). In 1996, Sarah starred in two films: Robin of Locksley (1996) and Stand Against Fear (1996) in which she played an actress called Krista Wilson. Sarah was asked to be a part in a television series named Nothing Too Good for a Cowboy (1998) in the year after Roseanne (1988). Based on Nothing Too Good For a Cowboy (1998) on which the show also took inspiration from. In 1993 she took over Becky's role in Roseanne (1988). She told her she was looking to quit acting and pursue a degree in college. 2001 (1993-1997) She played Sara Gilbert's elder sibling on Roseanne (1988), although she's much younger real life. Participated in 1999 CCMA Awards ceremony, and was presented with the award for the most memorable single. (September, 1999) Appeared on local Vancouver theatre productions at age 8. Fluent in French and German. She is a volunteer at a hospice for patients with terminal illnesses and is employed with the Audrey Hepburn Children's Fund. Chalke is a cook who enjoys eating with her pals (especially Thai or sushi) as well as play guitar as well as go on hikes, ski (she's an instructor), and kayaking. Her father is a lawyer, as are her parents mediators. They also own an agency for adoption of children. Two years ago she went with her parents to China to facilitate the adoption of orphans in China.
